Salazar and the Senators are the Class of the American League

 March 4, 1954

The Washington Senators appear to be the clear favorites to win the American League in 1954. It all starts with Matt Salazar. Salazar is the Senators' dynamic five tool centerfielder. At 27 years of age he appears to be entering his prime and that could be real scary for the rest of the American League.

Salazar won't have to do it alone. The Senators boast two of the top starting pitchers in all of baseball in Alan Lee and Chris Axson

The Senators should get a push from the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox boast one of the top offenses in all of baseball and a solid pitching staff. The Red Sox are an aging club though. If they can keep their guys healthy they could be a thorn in the Senators' side in 1954
